Couples Wedding Shower Invitation
-- Couples Wedding Shower Invitation --
Hosting a couples wedding shower is a fun, modern, and stylish way to include both the bride and the groom in the festivities leading up to the wedding. After all, it is both of their wedding! Choosing an invitation for the happy couple’s shower is an important step – it needs to tell guests all the important information about the who/what/when/why/where – and it also needs to let them know that both men and women are welcome. In addition, an invitation always sets the tone for an event. That’s a lot of work for one folded piece of cardstock!
Couples Wedding Shower Wording Most importantly, the couples wedding shower invitation should clearly state that the event is in honor of both people. For example, you might write “Jenny and David are getting married! Please join us for a Couples Shower in their honor.” Be sure to mention both names. If a couple is hosting the shower, both of their names should be mentioned as well. A full example would be: You’re invited to a Couples Shower, in honor of Jenny Matthews & David Horst! Please join us in celebration of their upcoming marriage. Saturday, July 24th, 2010, 3pm – 5pm, 5545 Brooke Street Hosted by Jacquie and Ben Moss. Please RSVP to 555-555-5555 You can also refer to the couple as “The future Mr. and Mrs. Horst,” especially if they are very traditional.
His and Hers Themes It’s a great idea to add a theme to a couple’s shower, as it will make gift giving much easier for all guests. Is there something that they love to do together, such as camp, travel, or photography? Go ahead and turn it into a theme! If you plan to let guests know where they have registered, gift-giving will be a breeze. If not, consider throwing a specific gift-theme shower, such as a “Stock the Bar” where guests all bring items for the couples’ bar, or a “Get Outside” where friends and family help the new couple stock up on outdoor essentials like flashlights, sleeping bags, and a tent!
Couples Wedding Shower Invitation Style If you’re planning a unisex event, it’s a wise choice to stay away from the girly, ultra-feminine invitations that are on the market. Instead, choose a gender-neutral color such as yellow or green, in a fun, non-floral print. Consider really showing your guests that it’s a couple’s shower by choosing an invitation that features a couple! An adorable cartoon couple or a modern silhouette of a bride and groom are fun additions to any invite. Or, choose any graphic that indicates a twosome – a bicycle built for two, a pair of pears, or a couple of birds are all great ways to bring this theme together.
Couples Wedding Shower Invitation Etiquette Just because it’s a “couples shower” doesn’t mean that everyone invited has to be a part of a twosome. It’s fine to invite the basketball guys and the single girls from work – the term couples generally simply means that the shower is open to both males and females. Planning a couple’s shower is a fun way to bring the guys and gals together! Just make sure that your invitations make it clear that it’s not a ladies only event!
