Kitchen Bridal Shower Invitations

Kitchen bridal shower invitations are wonderful because they easily accommodate a variety of party "personalities." Whether the shower you're planning can be characterized as traditional, upscale, or aims for that retro-cool feel, there are fabulous ideas for kitchen shower invitations open to you.

First decide: do you want to purchase the invitations or make them yourself?

If you wish to buy...

A quick online search can leave you wondering if no happy medium exists between inexpensive yet tacky kitchen shower invitations and attractive, more elegant ones that exceed a reasonable budget.

Fortunately, a few online stationery stores deliver the best of both worlds! They feature super-chic graphics, completely customizable text, and gorgeous color combinations to choose from, all at smart prices. With these options, you ensure that the kitchen bridal shower invitations are everything you want them to be.

If you wish to make...

Considering making your own invitations? Great! Handpick a poem or saying and the wording example you like best to build the perfect kitchen bridal shower invitations. Incorporate fun, interesting graphics to complete the look. An (*) indicates ideas of images with which to complement the text.

Sayings
Your guests won't be able to resist these yummy phrases!

Poems
Open your kitchen bridal shower invitations with some ryhthm and rhyme to get your guests thinking food and fun!

1. Stock the Kitchen

(Groom) and (Bride) may have love overflowing,
but the heart of their home's looking bare.
Appliances, dishes, gadgets, and knives:
let's help them to cook with real flair!

2. Recipe for Fun

Passed down for generations, one woman at a time: it's a favorite recipe.
It requires much care and time to prepare, but it sounds so very sweet.
Take one bride-to-be, a heaping spoonful of laughter, and whisk well with good friends.
Add two cups of love, a dash of excitement, plenty of hope that never ends.
I tasted my batter, but it wasn't quite right. I would have to start anew.
But of course! The bridal shower won't be complete until one ingredient's added: you!

Design Ideas
Creative invitations. Graphics. Patterns. Embellishments. What will your homemade kitchen shower invitations look like?

Tip: Graphics CD-Roms and the internet may offer just the image you're looking for. If not, however, don't feel limited to pictures you print from your computer. Rubber stamps and, if your guest list allows, felt or paper appliques make excellent alternatives to printed images.

  • Run a border of tiny images across the top of your card. China plates, silverware, or various appliances would each lend a sweet charm to your kitchen bridal shower invitations. Handled carefully, this design can look very elegant.
  • Stir up some fun by transforming recipe cards into postcards! Because you will most likely write out the bridal shower details by hand onto individual cards, this idea works best when your guest list isn't so large. Search out fun recipe cards, preferably ones with separate Ingredients and Directions spaces. Get creative in the Ingredients column by listing things such as "one bride-to-be," "a cup of joy," "your company," and so on. Provide all the essential information under Directions, but again, be as imaginative as you want with this! On the back of the recipe card, add any extra bridal shower details, and draw a vertical line to divide the text and your guest's address.
  • It's hard to go wrong when choosing graphics/rubber stamps/appliques for a kitchen bridal shower. Nearly every item you can find in a kitchen is fair game for the basis of a great invitation. But often, it's the words or saying that accompanies an image that really makes the card. What text might you pair with these pictures?

    • Salt and pepper shakers.
    • Mixing bowl and spoon.
    • Can opener.
    • A housewife in any of a variety of acts: holding a steaming plate of food, stirring batter, pulling a cake from the oven.
    • Coffee-maker.
    • Toaster.
