Typically, bridal showers were only for women, but these days, many couples are enjoying couples showers or wedding showers for men. The boys should have some fun too – after all, ladies have started having bachelorette parties! If you want to throw a manly wedding shower, just be sure to keep it masculine and give it a theme he’ll love.

Some men prefer to have a “Gentleman’s Dinner” which is a great send-off for the future husband into a life of marriage. Since men are now more involved in the planning process, it only makes sense that they should have an event similar to the bridal shower.



















Sports Shower

Invite the guys over to watch a game, and have each guest bring a sports-oriented gift. If the groom-to-be is an enthusiast for a particular sport, such as golf, hockey, or football, have each guest bring a gift that relates to that sport.


BBQ Madness

Why guy doesn’t love to sear a steak over the open flame? Help him stock his domain by hosting a barbecue themed shower, where guests can bring gifts that range from heavy duty utensils to special seasonings. Have a hot-sauce tasting contest and serve up lots of hot wings and burgers.


Drink Up!

If the future grooms loves to have a drink, throw a “Stock the Bar” shower where each guest is encourage to bring a bottle or a bar accessory. Of course, some sampling will have to occur!


Musical Shower

If the groom to be is a musician, then having a shower based on tunes is only natural! Get the guys together for a jam session, and then present the groom with a musical gift. Why not have all the guys throw in so you can splurge on something really amazing, like a new amp?


Pick an Activity – Any Activity!

Usually, guys tend to socialize around a particular activity, so plan an event to make your wedding shower a memorable day. Pack up the jeep and head to the beach for the day, go golfing, or spend an afternoon fishing.


Planning Wedding Showers for Men

If you’re planning a wedding shower for a man, it’s a good idea to send out an invitation between 4-6 weeks before the big day. Include all the pertinent details of the event – and remember, if there is a special theme, now is the time to clue everyone in. Include contact information for the host and ask guests to RSVP.

Serve up lots of “guy food” such as pizza, wings, nachos, and be sure to order some sort of chocolate dessert!

Wedding showers for men are on the rise! If you’re not comfortable planning a shower, but want the boys to be in on the action, consider having a couples shower. This is a great way to get everyone together and shower the new couples with gifts for their new life together!

A wedding shower is always a fun event in the months leading up to the wedding, and it’s a great time to celebrate a guy who is a great friend! Get to know his other friends and family before the wedding begins at a special shower just for him!
