Western Bridal Shower

-- Western Bridal Shower --

A bridal shower is such a fun time to get together a group of ladies that are near and dear to the bride’s heart. And, if you add a fun twist, such as a Western shower theme to the day, it instantly becomes even more memorable! It’s time to start planning! Throwing a Western bridal shower is a fantastic way to include some of the bride’s interests and hobbies into her shower.

Step One: Invitations

Once you’ve determined the size of your guest list, it’s time to go about ordering some invitations. Are you planning a formal fete or a casual day? Your invites should reflect the overall feel of your event. Look for invitations that feature some western detailing, such as an image of a cowgirl, a horse, or some rope knot border work. Consider asking each guest to wear her favorite cowgirl hat!

Step Two: Menu

What will you be serving? Of course, if you’re planning a themed shower, it only makes sense that your food should match your theme! The easiest way to match the food to a specific theme is through the cake. Consider using horseshoes as your main image – they represent good luck and work perfectly with the western-style bridal shower! You can create a cake shaped like a horseshoe, or serve up cupcakes with horseshoe detailing. Cowboy boots are also a fun and hip way to represent the western theme – imagine a cake that looks like a pair of stylish boots! You can also create a cake with a photo on top of it; so if you have a photo of the bride as a young girl riding her favorite horse, consider featuring it on the cake! If you’re serving up a meal, you might want to host a BBQ or serve up some country fried chicken.

Setting the Scene

Country music is the best way to add an instant western appeal to your surroundings. If you’ve got a color scheme, such as blue, turquoise and red, you’ll want to purchase a few small bouquets of flowers to scatter around the entertaining area. If you want to go full force with the theme, consider blowing up some black and white photos of the bride’s favorite western celebrities!

Got Game?

What’s a shower without a few games? You’ll want to include a western spin – so why not start with a hilarious game of “Pin the belt buckle on the Cowboy.” You’ll be hooting and laughing in no time at all! You can also have a hat decorating contest – supply the ladies each with a basic white, inexpensive cowgirl hat, and provide ribbons, sparkles, and more! Let the bride choose the winner.

Fabulous Favors

One of the parts guests love most about attending a shower, is receiving a fun favor at the end of the day! Consider giving each guest a compilation CD with the very best western music – it’s inexpensive and easy to create at home! Or, pass out cookies in the shape of hats, boots or buckles!

A western themed shower is so different – and so much fun! Yee-haw!
